WatterstechAlex Watters
Homelab ops, containers, and networks — self-hosted at home, exposed with care, broken in staging first.

Still hands-on.
I’m Alex — I run a personal infrastructure stack under the Watterstech name. Day to day that means Docker on bare metal, reverse proxies, tunnels, media, game servers, and the messy networking that shows up after you move house and the ISP changes the rules.
I like systems that are boring when they work and obvious when they don’t. Small diffs. Root cause over band-aids. Document the ceiling when you cut a corner.

Homelab portfolio
Production-adjacent gear in a house — not a datacenter. Selected pieces:
-
Home server
Always-on Linux box for containers, media libraries, and backups — the hub everything else hangs off.
-
Container fleet
Plex, Gitea, Nginx Proxy Manager, Portainer, Watchtower, Cloudflare Tunnel, and more — compose-backed, restart-safe.
-
Edge & DNS
Cloudflare for public DNS and tunnels; dynamic A records for services that need a raw IP path.
-
Remote access
Self-hosted RustDesk so I can reach the lab without handing the keys to a third-party desktop service.
-
Cross-play Minecraft
Paper + Geyser/Floodgate so Java and Bedrock friends land on the same world.
-
Networking
DNS, reverse proxies, tunnels, and inbound service paths — kept boring when they work, obvious when they don’t.
